Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

GearScout ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This page explains what happens when you visit gearscout.com and use our links.

What we collect

GearScout itself does not collect personal information directly through forms, accounts, or logins — there currently are none on this site. If that changes (for example, adding a contact form or newsletter), this policy will be updated to reflect it.

Amazon Associates Program

GearScout is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, GearScout earns from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.

When you click a product link or image on GearScout and are taken to Amazon, Amazon may use cookies and similar technologies on their own site to track that the referral came from GearScout, and to manage your shopping experience there. GearScout does not see or store your payment information, order details, or Amazon account information — that data is handled entirely by Amazon under their own privacy policy.

Cookies

GearScout's own pages do not currently set first-party cookies. Once you follow a link to Amazon, cookies set on amazon.com are governed by Amazon's Privacy Notice, not this policy.

Third-party links

All "View on Amazon" buttons and product images link out to Amazon.com. GearScout is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of external sites you're referred to.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the site changes — for example, if forms, accounts, or analytics are added later. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
